“Who says specialty coffee has to be all serious and intimidating?” This brand believes the first step in breaking that stereotype is having a coffee bag that’s as funky and enjoyable as the product inside.

Afrique du Sud

Using a fine-line geometric illustration, this brand uses its coffee packaging to promote sustainability and support animal welfare. Their bag design was inspired by the natural beauty of the Banhoek Valley.

Black Hat Coffee believes coffee is as individual a product as a tailor-made suit. So, the brand’s custom coffee boxes and bags feature different suit patterns, as well as illustrations of men dressed impeccably.

The brand’s retail and wholesale coffee packaging is understated and timeless, with the side panel featuring design flourishes such as ornate woodwork from original mantelpieces and floral William Morris-inspired wallpaper.

Couplet Coffee wanted a “visual design that was fun, approachable, and told the story of the coffee journey from farm to cup. We’re big on being bright, colourful, and funkier than people are used to in the coffee space.”

Kolo Coffee focuses on innovation, simplicity, and community. Their coffee boxes and bags are wrapped in a bright orange nylon band with a cord lock, which is a symbol of how coffee helps connect people, regardless of age, circumstance, or race.

The design for Firelight Coffee Roasters packaging represents “a picture of the future world we hope to see. A world where nature thrives in abundance, where the beauty of simple things is celebrated, and where everyone has access to quality coffee.”

Salto Coffee

Salto Coffee has created a unique set of patterns for its coffee bags. Each represents the vibrancy, movement, and energy of the brand, while the colour palette reflects the mountain townscape of aspen trees, alpine lakes, and granite rock.

Black Acres Roastery

USA

A minority-owned roaster with a focus on community, relationship, and sustainability, this brand’s coffee bag for its Colombia Aponte Honey offering features an original illustration from an image of the region Nariño.

Astro Coffee Limited

“Our coffee journey is an exploration, and the name “Astro” encapsulates these ideals.” Their coffee bags feature a simple, sophisticated design that showcases the quality of the product, using luxurious colours to highlight the logo and tagline.

Inspired by the coffee branding of the 1800s, Victoriana Coffee Co. offer black coffee bags adorned with gorgeous gold, antique illustrations. Each pouch is an artwork of fine Victorian style details and decoration.

This brand combines coffee bags with custom-printed labels that feature a variety of birds and calming colours. To highlight the characteristics of each coffee, the brand matches it to a bird: fruiter coffees feature tropical birds.

This packaging showcases the intricate art of the coffee tree. The brand’s boxes and flat-bottom coffee bags feature delicate decals of the branches, leaves, and cherries of a coffee tree on an ivory-white or lilac background.

“We wanted to refer to the origin of our coffee, which has a long and striking history dating back to 1870.” Bernard Café’s coffee bags are a bold combination of rich reds, purples, and blues that blend to form a mountainous landscape.
